If you are new to security you really need to get your head around keys, specifically how the UN handles keys, if you dont understand that you will be in major trouble as you could make things even less secure.

There are lots of documents there plus information on getting your hands on trial copies, I'd firstly start with PGP Desktop, get your head around that then move up to the Universal Server when you are confident how PGP Desktop works.
