Hi, I am just building my 1st server for a small business I am setting up. It is running Windows SBS 2008 and like lots of small businesses with their 1st server, absolutely everything is happening on the one boxr - DNS, Active Directory, Exchange etc. I have loaded the Symantec Endpoint Proetction for Small Business Edition Symantec Protection Center just fine and have deployed to 2 clients so far. Everything looks to be good. It's version 12.0.1001.95 if that's important. The question I have is regarding protection for the server itself. Is it covered just because I have the Portection Center loaded on it? As you might guess I am unconvinced of this, not least because the Endpoint Status window in the home page of the Protection Center show that I have precisely 2 endpoints protected - no mention of any server. Sorry for what is probably a dumb question. I may have missed something obvious, but having read the manual, queried the forum, and googled it generally, this isn't obvious for a beginner. Any advice you can give me about what I should and maybe shouldn't do here would be appreciated. Thanks!

The server is not protected until you install a client. At the minimum, install the AV/AS feature on your server. Note PTP is not recommended on server OS's. See RECOMMENDED CLIENT PROTECTION POLICIES (Page 32) of the
Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12 Best Practices document.
