Newbie question: Create new incident

Hello All.

I know next to nothing about the Altiris helpdesk, but I have had to restore a Helpdesk on a crashed server.

I got it installed, and I can access the existing incidents, but the "Create new incidents" option isn't available. Actually, it's not even visible.

I gather this has to do with some sort of permission, but what do I need to get this option back.

I have added the logged-in user in both the Altiris Administrators and the Altiris Level 2 Workers local machine groups.

Help, please!

Hi Antiquado,

Check the security roles settings under the configuration tab in the NS Server.
Check both the members and the privileges tabs for the users. You will need to add your workers in that part to grant them access to the Helpdesk Portion.

Installer error

Hi mabdelnabi, and thanks for the feedback!

I just got off a Webex with ALtirus support. The solution to the problem was a repair on NS and all installed Solutions. Specifically, the Helpdesk Solution was installed (and I had an Incidents tab and everything), but didn't appear in the Add/remove programs overview. Apparently, due to an installer error.

The security settings seemed to have been set up as it should be, originally.

I think I'll just write it up as one of those issues that I didn't quite get much wisdom out of -
at this point I'm just happy to see it working... :-)
