Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

I am attempting to bring up a new NS6 server at one of our regional campuses but the newer installation package for NS6 (ver 6.1.439) is having an issue finding the local Altiris databases that I had created. The installer gets stuck on the database configuration page and just shows the message "Checking for database on <server-name>". I was able to replicate this issue on a separate machine that I setup for testing, however using the old installer works just fine.

We plan on moving to CMS 7 later next year but we need to have inventory and PM in place before then.

Thought a screen shot of the error might help. The odd thing is that the next button is no longer greyed out.

You mentioned the db's were on box, but AICM often had issues with detecting off box SQL and SQL express editions. Try just downloading the Altiris_NS_6_0.exe from Solution Sam, and installing NS that way. Once it's up and running you can install the solutions from solution center.
