NFS issue..

Created: 31 Aug 2010 | 5 comments

Hello everyone,
once again I am back with a error in netbackup.
I have a policy to take backup of AD database.
I have enabled the "granular recovery" option.
I have activated the "File service" for NFS.(As required for Granular recovery.
But the backup fails with a  error of NFS..
I found that the "Client for NFS " in the AD server is not runnin. When I started the service it started.
But to check , I again restarted the service, but now it igorned to start.
I know without this service the "Granular backup is not possible.

Please , help.
Thanks.

Affected NetBackup versions & especially the exact level of the operating systems concerned (e.g. Windows 2003 R2 SP2) ?

Netbackup 7 is in Windows 2008 Hyper-v 64 bit
and the AD is in Windows 2008

2003 installation!

I presume you followed the Admin Guide Chapter 28 "About Granular Recovery Technology/About installing and configuring Network File System (NFS) for Active Directory Granular Recovery"? And also meet the "System requirements for Active Directory granular backups and recovery" earlier in the guide (Chapter 15)?

Anything in event viewer logs to indicate why services stop running? Is it more a Microsoft issue?

Specific NetBackup error messages?
