Nintendo Wii as a reward

John Chisari's picture

Hi can one of the mods find out and comment - cause the reward people aren't answering :-(

As I am from Australia, if I want a Wii as a reward - is it going to be an Australian console or a US console?  reasoning..

1. Games are region coded.
2. I would need a step down power transformer because of Voltages.
3. Warranty - don't really want to send it back to the US for warranty - as I don't think there is an International warranty on the Wii's.  I suppose this also goes for the DSi as well.

I suppose also our European community would have the same questions as well.

Thanks

John

Aussie Wii

Hi John,

I'm sure your message is in the queue of requests for the rewards staff. (They've been fairly busy lately).

Is there an Amazon that services your region? If so, you could request Amazon certificates (make sure you request certs that can be redeemed by your local Amazon) and order your own Wii.

Another option is to submit a request to the rewards staff and include a URL to a company that can fill your order. The rewards staff will do their best to help you get what you want.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kevin We don't have an

 Hi Kevin

We don't have an Amazon in Australia (we wish!).. so I looked up a couple of places.. also had a response back from the reward dudes.. here it is..

---------------------------------------------------------
We have researched your request for the Australian version of the Wii. We were unaware that there were different versions for different regions. Due to this information we may have to change the catalog to reflect point redemption amounts, or only take "Special Requests" for this item if it is available in that region.

We have found the Australian version of the Wii at:

http://dstore.com.au/games/Nintendo-Wii-Console-%2...

Unfortunately, this version is priced higher than the US version in the catalog. This item would require 2,234 points redemption to order it. We did find that this site also has Gift Vouchers available which might work better for your needs. We would be willing work at redeeming your points for specific voucher values for this site if it would meet your needs.

http://dstore.com.au/gifts/gift-vouchers/
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Vouchers, I would think would work out the same points amount as I would need $400 in vouchers to purchase it.  So living in the best country in the world does have it's drawbacks - gaining a Wii for a reward will cost you 423 more reward points than in the US :-)

I know in Symantec our reward system is based on a different factors, not on the $ Exchange rate at the time.  Can anything be done for certain rewards being offered where region compatibilities would affect their usage.. like the Wii?  If the PS3 or Xbox360 were ever offered on rewards, these would also have the same issue.

Thanks for your time.

John
