No managed clients after upgrade to SEP 12.1
I just upgraded a client's server to SEP 12.1 from 11.x. Before this upgrade, their 3 desktops and server were managed in SEM. Post-upgrade, I can't seem to get them to appear in the managed client list at all. I deployed the new client version from SEM, so I was assuming they'd just start showing up at some point (its been a week since the upgrade though).
If nothing else, I was expecting to see the server itself appear in the clients list, but no luck there - even after redeploying/reinstalling the SEP client.
The only place that I see any hint of managed clients is on the Policies screen. When I click on "virus and spyware protection", I see a Location Use Count of 3 next to Antivirus and Antispyware policy. When I click on "Firewall", I see a Location Use Count of 1 next to Firewall Policy. Ditto for the other policies.
All of these problems make me wonder if I should just uninstall SEM and the SEP client from all of the desktops and server. It might take less time than troubleshooting this.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Oh, just in case you're wondering my server is Windows 2003 R2 SP2 32bit, and all desktops are XP SP3 32bit.
Thanks,
Mike

Nevermind... I just found now to convert an unmanaged client to a managed client in the help file.
I confirm...
The IP address of my old SEP11 server manager was different from the new one SEP12.1.
Just right click on group and then select "Export communication parameters" (English traduction from French).
On client, set Help, support and then import xml file on communication parameter from SEP manager just created.
It's all.
how to upgrade from SEP 11.0.4 to symc enterprise edition 3
any one please give me a solution to upgrade SEP 11.0.4 to symantec protection suite enterprise edition 3

SPS 3.0 is a suite of products. What specific build are you trying to upgrade to with SEP? You should at least go to RU6 or RU7 at a minimum. Note that you can't migrate RU7 to SEP 12.1 as of yet. SEP 12.1 RU1 is right around the corner.
Currently you can obtain the latest build of SEP 11 (RU7) off of FileConnect. Any build prior to that would need to be obtained from Tech Support since FileConnect only shows the most recent build.
Thank you for marking as a solution if you felt this response met your needs!
