Seem that nearly all my non-administive users are not getting protection technologies from SEP.

i've tried the solution on the links below but there are no such policies on any GPO

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH96475&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1301374389938

also tried another solution from below, but no result.

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH93564

the problem seem to be the permission right as only users are getting these issues

my SEP is 11.0.6005.562 installed on server 2008 r2

i have XP, vista and window 7 computers

    Hello,

Can you create new installation package (only with Antivirus  package) and install it again please?

    Best Regards.

    copy the package locally

right click on setup.exe and select run as admin, did that install all the components?

no, uninstall then reinstall with only antivirus package is not working

no, run as admin did not solve the problem.

another thing strange is that installing from find unmanaged computers failed. i used to do it that way but now i must export a package then installed it from the workstation

    Did you check the DCOM?

  • 12.  RE: No Protection Technologies are installed

    Posted Mar 30, 2011 12:31 AM

try clean wipe then reinstalled but still the same

installed from cd, still the same.

another thing strange is that one my computer, the sep has the protection technology but when other users who do not have protection technology, login on my computer, they still don't get it on any other computer. Seem like the problem is based on users and not computer.

should be related to permissions alone

did you check the SEcpol.msc when users logged in?

    any restrictions in the permissions?

Log in as administrator, on the  computer.

    Search for these  two files:

mscvp.dll, and  msvcr.dll, on the  computer.

Give the user having the issue, full permission.

Then log in back as that  user, and check

Someone told me to change a registry

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing

and change the value data from

    63c00 to 23c00

then i've restart my computer and all my technologies are back.

the thing is that i've found that after some times the problems persist
