  • 1.  No restart is required

    When we deploy Basic Protection for server + Basic Content+ No auto restart package to SEP client, found that no restart is required displayed on SEP cilent window, also "No" in SEPM column "Restart Required".

    1. May we know if this package is not required to restart SEP client, but Symantec is running well?

    2. With what component that SEP client have to be restarted?

    If you are doing a fresh install with only AV than you shouldn't have to worry about a restart.

    If you are doing an upgrade from 11.x to 12.1, a restart is needed.

    If you are installing NTP, a restart is needed.

    If you are upgrading within 12.1 version range and without NTP (Firewall mostly) the reboot will not be required.
