This issue has been solved. See solution.

I just recently installed DS 6.9 SP1 on a new server. It runs great on the server, but when I install a console on a remote machine and run it, I get the attached screen. What I don't understand is why it works on the server and no where else if the same executable was used to install both. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Did you check your ODBC connection to the Ds server.

Are you using an account that has access to the DS and SQL server?

hope that helps

I usually see that error message if the user account that you are locally logged in with doesn't have access to the SQL Server. In our environment, each admin has two accounts. One account is for day to day activities (no admin access), the other is the admin account. To use the admin account we have to Ctrl+right click on the icon and choose "run-as". Then use the admin credentials. The SQL server seems to allow this.

It ended up being the ODBC connection. I didn't have the fully qualified server name entered for the SQL server. Thanks to you both for your help.
