Created: 22 Apr 2013 | 8 comments

I had a request to block a website during office hours. How can I achieve that since there's no time column in firewall rules configuration screen?

I don't believe that option is available in SBE, only the Enterprise version.

This KB Article describes how to do it but it only applies to Enterprise, I don't see one for SBE which usually means it doesn't apply

Thank you for the clarification. I wonder if there's a workaround? Any ideas, anyone? Registry, perhaps?

Hello,

The Time Feature in the Firewall is not available in the Small Business Edition of SEP 12.1 and since the feature is not there, you would not have the registry as well.

Perhaps, you can migrate to the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 (Enterprise)

Hope that helps!!

There is no workaround. You would need to upgrade to SEP Enterprise.

Ok, then. Thanks. I wish Sym would update the product selector so that it'd ask the buyer about the features needed instead of just ask how many license required. *Just my 2 cents*.

Hello,

I understand your requirements.

However, as of now this is by design.

Secondly, you could any time create an IDEA / Enhancement Request which would be pushed to the Symantec Product Team:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/node/add/idea

(Note: To access the above link, you may need to Login to SymAccount)

You could also check the IDEA section - https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/security/ideas

Hope that helps!!
