I just bought this lap top and I am trying to put Symatec AntiVirus on it. Every time I attempt to do so, I keep getting an error that states "Please reboot and try again. Note: You may need to run nonav249.exe if the reinstall fails"---What does this mean and how do I make it install?

Did this laptop had Norton pre-loaded ?
You can call symantec and get a copy of SCSCleanwipe.
Nonav was widely used but was never was officialy accepted.

What version of SAV are you trying to install and on to which operating system are you trying to install it?

Nonav was a removal utility that is no longer used and it is not recommended to be used anymore.  Cleanwipe is the current removal utility used to assist in removal of SAV and SEP.  SymNRT, designed to remove Norton products, is also available through Support.

If you don't want to call in, you can open a case via MySupport.

When I got this lap top, It had Macafee installed, and windows 7 home premium. The SAV i am trying to install is 10.2  for Vista and it works on my desktop which has windows 7 ultimate....so I upgraded my lap top to 7 ultimate as well and it still will not work. If you could please give me step-by-step directions that would be helpful.  They on problem that I can think of is that the desktop is 32-bit and the new lap top is 64-bit and they are both Dells.

64 bit install is diffrent than 32 bit install.
If you are installing from CD make sure you install it from
    CD1\SAV64

I do not believe that Windows 7 is officially supported for SAV 10.2.  That said, make sure you have the latest version, 10.2.4.
