  • 1.  Norton Antivirus agent GUID?

    Posted May 07, 2007 01:58 PM
    We use MacAfee VirusScan in out environment and there is an Agent GUID that I have to delete from the registry before I create an image with Ghost. I have a friend that is starting to do some imaging at his work and they use Norton Antivirus  and I am not sure if there is any Guid that needs to be cleaned up before imaging and deploying to lots of computers.

    Anyone know of any GUID or anything that needs to be done to Norton antivirus before syspreping and imaging?

    Which agent GUID do you have to delete?  I am new to this company, I just upgraded to Ghost 11 (suite 2.0.1), and we have McAfee on out desktops.  I am sure to run into this problem.

    For norton AV Enterprise Delete this value:

    HKLM\Software\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVerion  Value:GUID

    Of course there is also the optional just dont install it as a managed client.  Then copy over the parent servers GRC.DAT file and place it in the all users profile after it is imaged:

    c$\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5

    Thanks for the info David.

    Geekstur, this is the key you would need to delete for McAfee:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent]
    "AgentGUID"=-
