I would expect this happen since it's never recommended to run 2 AV scanners on the same system.
Try a second opinion scanner such as Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, Super Antispyware.
You should post this on the Norton Community forum for better support:

SEP Knowledge Base
Endpoint SWAT
It is not recommended to run 2 AV scanners on the same system.
IT will conflict with each other. Same happening in you case.
I have seen lot of case unable to install Antivirus because of other AV scanner installed..

----Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."If we have more than on AV running on the machine you would run into performance issue. As both we take resources. There is no harm in haveing two AV, but I feel it is not a wise move
This is what Symantec says http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH104806
Symantec strongly recommends that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. Your best defense against computer viruses and malicious programs is to keep your virus definitions up to date, and run Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time. (The Norton AntiVirus module that is active in memory is named Auto-Protect. Other antivirus programs will have different names for this function.)

Yes thank you for all the responses i know its not good to have 2 AV'S, and i will just uninstall one of them i guess. and where is SEPM i do not have it installed on my computer and i cant find no where to download it on nortons website. Does anyone know??
If it is a standalone client in where you have SEP installed , then SEPM is not needed.
But if you more clients and you want them to be managed then we need SEPM.
Please go to the following site :https://fileconnect.symantec.com/
Enter the Serail No of the product.and download the CD where you would have the excutable for SEPM
