Not able to see tap slots in backup exec 2010 R3

Hi All,

Recently i installed the backup exec 2010 r3 on server, tap autoloader driver is installed it is showing medium changer and tap autoloader drivers in device manager. when i open backup exec i cannot find the tap slots under device and device pool. can anyone please tell me what could be the reason.

...your autoloader needs to be on the HCL. Check the link below and make sure that it is supported:

What is the brand/type of the device you have, and how is it connected (fibre, sas, scsi) ?

We have Sun StorageTek SL24 Tape Autoloader it is available in HCL.

Model is LTO 5 and connected through Fiber cable.

when i see the medium changer in device manager it is showing one yellow alert.

...the medium changer should show: Unknown Medium Changer. Use tapeinst.exe to install the Symantec drivers for the tape drive. Then check again...

The Medium Change is showing autoloader correct name not unknown so it means it is installed fine.

This means that the tape library is not installed properly in Windows and hence BE cannot use it.  The tape library must be functioning correctly (without any alerts) in the Windows Device Manager before BE can use it.
