  • 1.  Not allowed to add to exception ??

    Posted Aug 27, 2014 08:23 PM

    Hi,

Some false positive virus were detected by SEP. I would like to add them to exception from report. But I can't do it.

Also want to find them in exceptions list but not found.

Furthermore, Symantec replied those files will be removed from detection. When will it start ?

Since user can't access those files...

    Please advice.

    Thnaks

Do you have full admin rights to do this?

Also, when did symantec say this? Did you call them? Do you have the latest defs?

Yes, I have full right to do this. Since other detection allowed.

I haven't call them, only upload to false positive.

Sure. This server keep update daily.

You can add the whole folder for the exception policy location if there is all import data.

    Hi William,

As this was False Positive detection I hope you would have submited the file to Symantec to be removed from detection. If not please submit the file to the following URL:

    URL: https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/

After the submission is done it gets reviewed and in normal condtions if no other information is required the detection is removed in around 24 hours time with next certitied definitions.
