We setup a new server for a new client running SBS 2003.
We purchased and installed SEP (11.0). We get no errors during the install process, but when we are unable to login to the management console because the SEPM service is not starting. Looking in the event log, I get the following message from semsrv with event ID 4096: The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of 1, the service is being stopped.
It's not the usual '-1' code I see in all the other forum messages.
After uninstalling, reinstalling, beating my head against the wall, etc... I gave up for a few days and continued with the project.
Another tech called me saying their blackberry software was having problems. I dug into that and found that Java was the problem.
I installed the older JRE1.5 software and blackberry started running. So I decided to revisit SEP to see if that fixed it. No joy.
The scm-server-0.log doesn't give me anything useful:

That's it. No java errors that I can see.
Any pointers on what to do next?
