Note regarding Proactive Threat Protection on 64 bit systems

This is in regards to the following post
...and Symantecs post regarding the issue.
To clarify, is the function not suppose to work at all on a x64 machine or is it just not supported if it allows proactive threat protection. If the function is on does it function correctly?
I have a an XP x64 machine that I cannot toggle to allow proactive threat protection but I also have a Vista x64 Ultimate machine that seems to function correctly.
Both systems are barebones installs.

And here we are almost 2 years later... STILL not working on x64 systems (WIndows 7). WHY IS IT EVEN OFFERED in the installlation routine? BAD CODE MONKEY. NO BANANA.
