This issue has been solved. See solution.

Under the configuration tab and in the notifcation polices there are emails configured that send reports.

This reports are already ran and they are in the body of the email.

The ones I create in the task tab under Software management>patch management>notificaition polices>global send a link to the report instead of the report itself.

They have to login in the server to see the report.

Is there a way to change this so that they get the report already ran instead sending them a link?

See AK33657

I believe you want the %Results% in the body of the email.

resouce reports too

HI,

Yes (thanks), that works great for the report tab but how about the resource tab. I bulld alot of collections (lets say adobe 91.3) and then send the results to our security office. Is there any way to send some of the resource tab collections in an email as the reports tab reports are sent with the %Result% ?

??

Resource tab collections? You want to send the group membership to someone? Or the summary results of the resource manager?

group membership

I want to send the group membership (collection)?

I found that exporting (in the resource tab) then import under the reports tab will bring the group (collection) but have not tested it yet in an email.

Is there a better way to do this?

You could create a report referencing the collection membership

each collection has it's own guid, and each resource in the collection is associated with that guid and can therefore be tracked.

HI, I think this will work.

HI,

I think this will work. Not exactly pretty but with a little work it should fly.

Why I will do is grab the guid of the collection like you mentioned and edit the report and add the guid.
Then I can edit the report again and exclude other groups (departments).

Only 147 records?

Hi,

Sorry that I included this in another thread, but it is related...

I just tried this with a LARGE report (circa 4500 records), that needs to be sent to my boss (who likes sifting lots of data), but when I included the %Results% in the body of the email, it gave me the report results, but only the first 147 records, with a little "more..." in the next line and nothing else.

Is there a way to get all of the rows to be included in the report?

Regards,

Leni of the Quiet Type

No, there is a hard cut-off that can't be modified

With a large report, you are best suited to just emailed the report link. I believe the linked articles cover that.

D'oh!

Thanks Jim.

The report needs to be sent outside of a firewall and the server is not networkable from the director, sadly.

I guess that I have to build a script to query the database and then send an SMTP email????

Blessings,

Yes, I believe in this case

without modifying your firewall or creating a reporting server (modifying the infrastructure) an external solution would be your best bet.

server Log in reports

One last question:

When they get the email for the reports and there is a link to the report that needs a username and password,, and the report has been deleted because the user has been on vacation for a couple weeks a link the the notification server log appears if you ask for details.

Is there any way to remove that link to server log?
