Hello everyone,

I'm experiensing a weird thing with the notifications.

On home page, i can see that i ve a notification waiting, so i click on show.

It opens the monitor page on notification tab. i can acknowledge it, no problem. If i want to see the repport, it opens a new page and ask me to log in the report server. I do so and the page showing is .... the home page ...

I tried on the server itself with the java applet, via web console remotly from my computer, with differents accounts, none opens the report.

I've no idea of what is happening and where to check a log ...

It s the one that comes with SEPM, as seen with javacpl.exe in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\jre\bin it says 1.6.0_31-b05

It use to work fine but i just saw that updates are automaticly installed (in the same javacpl.exe) so it might have been updated

In the event observer i've some semsrv errors on august (27) that says unable to to start java virtual machine but since hte 27 no more errors since i had this

I aslo have 2 MsiInstaller error concerning the Client of the server.

It says that some changes were detected and need to reboot the computer. Please restart the computer and launch again the installer. I'm rebooting now ...

You need java 6 31 installed.

Here are the steps with Java 1.6 update 31 to access SEPM via Java console:

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Java 1.6 update 31 installed on the SEPM server.
  2. Open a web browser and go to: http://localhost:9090/
  3. Once the site comes up click the "DOWNLOAD & LOG IN" link (the upper right hand button).  This should launch the remote console.
  4. If you get a Java security error that says "Block potentially unsafe components from being run?" click "No".

Thanks In Advance

ok so i did install 1.6.31

Now i've 2 java installed one in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\jre

and one in C:\Program Files\Java\jre6

Did what you suggest Ashish and ... not working. The console is ok but when I want to check the notification report, i get a "login to reporting" screen.

I made screenshots of what is happening :

- Log on the console home page (SEPM_Notif0)

- click on "Afficher notif." link to open the notification (SEPM_Notif1)

- click on "Rapport" icon to check what is reported, a window open and the log in inside (SEPM_Notif2)

If I do log in with the same acount, the home page shows in...

- after a few seconds this popup shows up (SEPM_Notif3)

I tried to see differents reports (see SEPM_Notif4) and all are working (well the ones i tried) I've a popup and content are showing (SEPM_Notif5)

Yes i know about the script, i did check this thread too, but this is not really what i'm pointing here.

My problem is that i can't open the repport that shows up in the SEPM_Notif1 picture.

If i open any other page, no script error shows up. If i go in this particular repport, everything goes wrong.

What is the Java version installed with SEPM (12.1RU1MP1) ?

Hello,

Check these Articles:

Script error in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager after upgrading to SEP 12.1

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH165017

"Script error" popup appears in Java remote console > Monitors > Logs or Reports with French Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH164318

"Internet Explorer Script Error: An error has occurred in the script on this page", when viewing reports from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

I would suggest you to perform a Disaster Recovery of SEPM 12.1.

Hope that helps!!

Filter is disabled.

This is getting me crazy ... i know it used to work but i've no idéa of when did it stop working and i've no idea of why this particular report is only affected ... If all were, i could say this is apache, tomcat or java, but this is the only one ...
