Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

Deployment Solution uses the client's MAC address to identify the machine when it connects.  This would not seem to ever be an issue, except for the case where clients are all using mobile broadband cards.  Mobile broadband cards from each provider have the same MAC, therefore only one machine shows up in DS despite 10 being connected since DS sees each as the same client.

I'm wondering if this is a potential issue with NS.  The customer will be using NS as their long term client management solution and I need to verify this before they spend 200k on the suite.

to each client, and doesn't rely solely on a serial number or MAC address. Typically duplicate resource names can cause duplicate systems, but not to the degree you see in Deployment Server.
