Notification server dependency with Workflow projects
Hi,
I am planning on publishing and installing workflow projects on vairous servers in my environment. These projects will be Web Form projects and will essentially run command line scripts. For example the project will start a Powershell or a VB script. My question is whether there is a dependency on having the Workflow Solution Server or Notification Server accessible to the application running on a separate system. In other words, would the application work if it cant speak to the Notification Server? I plan on using the Workflow projects in a scenario where there will be no connectivity between the server where the application is installed and the Notification Server. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Ben

As far as I know, the only time you would need to be dependent on the NS is if you are using "NS components", like ASDK/Task/Resource/Help Desk components. If you don't use any NS components, you should be fine.
Hi, Thanks for your
Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
So I'm now trying to test one of my Workflow projects on a separate server but when installing it says it requires Logic Base Server 2006. Where can I get this from? I cant seem to find any installation files for it.
Thanks again,
Ben
ns requirements
The error message your're seeing obviously needs updadating but what it's telling you is that the Workflow Server must be installed in order to install or run workflow projects. This is the setup file you get to in the 6 console via Configuration - Solutions Settings - Workflow - Workflow Download Links. You can't just deploy to any server. Projects rely on the Workflow Server framework to run. Aditionally, WF 6.5 is licensed by the server and the NS is required for licensing.
