I am an Asset Manager that will be using Altiris 7 (Assset Management Suite). We are separating out roles for Procurement Manager, Software Asset Manager, Finance who will manage the Invoices and Contract Manager, who will enter any service contracts we might have into the system. The administrators of Altiris for all other features and security is managed by another team.
Does anyone have a good template I could use to request the appropriate permissions for these varied roles. My goal is to document to permissions each role will need. For example the Procurement manager will need to edit catalogs, and move purchase requests to the Purchase Order then Invoice phases. But they do not need to create Software products or enter Contracts into the system.
The Software Asset Managers will need to edit Catalogs, create Software Products and tie purchases to those products. They will also need to update and input contracts.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to document these different permission sets in a format that will translate well to our NS administrators so we give the right people the correct permissions?
