TouchDown

  • 1.  Notification settings

    Hello.

    I'd like to propose the following idea:

    #1 implement an option which will allow to produce separate android event for each mail received by TouchDown;

    #2 implement an option (or fix the current state) which will allow to configure what the event consists of.

    I'm using android set up in the way that some notifications are pronounced by synthesized voice (VoiceNotify app). This helps to be on the move and still understand what's happening without even getting out the phone out of my pocket - you just hear it in your headphones.

    As of now, when new email is received by TouchDown, all i hear is <timestamp> <subject> (that is the problem that can be fixed by #2). It would be great to at least hear who sent the mail.  I see the sender in the notification visually but, if i understand correctly, what the synthesizer uses, is called "ticker" field of Notification object, and it lacks the sender info at the moment.

    Now, when the second email arrives (and first is not dismissed from notification tray), i will hear something like "2 new emails", which #1 can fix. I understand that the tray will be flooded with email notifications in case there is a busy inbox you have, but i can perfectly live with that.

    Hope this can be considered. Thanks in advance!
