If I go to Agent Diagnostics-->Log Viewer (6.0.2403) and then to the NS Web Config tab, are the NS server name and NS Server URL fields supposed to contain the info from your notification server? Can someone point me to where you would configure this on the console to have this show up on the actual agent?
I am just getting introduced to Altiris and have been asked to "hop right in" to an existing environment that was never fully operational

Yes - the info should be listed.
Are you installing the agent manually or via the console? If you do it via the console, it will configure everything. If manually, then you should be able to just put in the info on the ns web config tab and it should accept it as the new config info. You might have to restart the Altiris Agent service to get it to be recognized, but that should be all you need to do.
I was doing it from a UNC
I was doing it from a UNC path and it was being installed without that info. You are right though, if I just added the servername, it would accept ot
