NS7 Reports - Managed Delivery Compliance Report Disappearing?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hey folks,

I am using the prefab report called "Software Compliance by Managed Delivery Policy" on my NS7. I have three managed delivery policies, and this report used to show all of them. Now, it only shows the most recent one. I changed the parameters to the following:

Policy Name: %
Policies Created within the Last X Days: 0
Policies Evaluated within the Last X Days: 0

My understanding is that this would show all managed delivery policies, but it only shows one of the three. If I copy+paste the exact names of the managed delivery policies to the "Policy Name" field, I get "no results returned".

Has anyone seen reporting data disappear like this?

Thanks in advance

It is my understanding

that entering 0's in the given parameters is only going to tell you policies created or evalutated during the current day (when you run the report). What happens if you select other date ranges?

Well, if it was only doing

Well, if it was only doing the current day then it should show zero policies since I didn't make one today, right? I set % / 60 / 60 and saw the same 1 policy, except it showed 1/3 the total number of computers and had different compliance figures (fewer computers, higher compliance). Thanks for responding!

I did some poking and found

I did some poking and found something potentially useful. Here is an update from a.log:

Log File Name: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Logs\a.log

Description: A failed attempt was made to run the DataSource 'Datasource Software Compliance by Managed Delivery Policy'.

Does anyone know why a datasource would fail?

Same issue

I'm also having the same issue.

Had a few managed delivery policies, was fine an hour ago..and now they've disappeared from the compliance report. There are two that still show, but the other two have gone.

If I create a new managed delivery policy, it shows up in the report.

This happened to be about 2 weeks ago, but I was testing and just created new reports..and now its happened again..very annoying.

Checked my logs, didn't find anything related to the above though.

Am looking at the SQL for it now, and going to play around

I'm going to try and elevate this to support

AaronT do you see the same error as UltraMagnus? "Description: A failed attempt was made to run the DataSource 'Datasource Software Compliance by Managed Delivery Policy".

That indicates, to me at least, a missing or possible corruption in that particular section of code.

Hi JIm, Not that I can see,

Hi JIm,

Not that I can see,

I find it interesting that today I check again and another policy has dropped off.

Its as if theres a certain time limit attached to these policies as they seem to be dropping off in order of when I created them.

When I run the other software compliance reports, the machines fail to report back for any of the polcies..and the only machines shown apply to the one last policy that I have left which is appearing.

I ran the SQL query straight on the DB and nothing came back either, whether it was the policy that should be appearing or the ones that disappeared..

Checked them today, and

Checked them today, and they've gone.

I'd be almost betting that they only stay in there for 7 days before something happens. I didn't check yesterday.

Pretty annoying. By the time I clone the managed delivery policy, wait for all the clients to report back (for which 1 week isn't sufficient to cover all PCs due to leave, etc) it doesn't even make it worth using.

Can't see anything in the report that stands out.

I've raised the support flag

however, I haven't had any feedback about this particular issue. Is is possible for one or both of you to contact support?

We have the same issue at ALL our NS7 Installations!

.....so I assume it's a bug. I will contact support asap and report back to this thread.
