    Hi ,

Recently we have upgraded to RU3, when we click on view details (Security Status - Attention Needed) on home page ,on some clients showing  NTP  was disabled .

We have  installed the full NTP components but from console we have disabled only  the firewal policy , we have 5500+ clients , 2400+ clients showing  NTP was disabled. screen shot attached .

    Any ideas.???

It's a bug that was fixed in RU4 so you can upgrade to RU4 to correct it.

    See fix here:

Client reports Firewall Status as “Disabled”
    Fix ID: 3115966
Symptom: If you disable or withdraw the firewall policy from a client group, the clients display as “Disabled” on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Home tab, under Endpoint Status. Clicking on the Endpoint Status chart shows the Firewall Status as “Disabled.” The Firewall Status should only display as “Disabled” if the end user disables the firewall.
Solution: Implemented the creation of a registry key during a clean installation, kept during migration, to correctly trigger the “Disabled” firewall status report.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Upgrade can be a possible solution.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 released on 10/22/2013.

Upgrdae from SEP 12.1 RU3 to RU4 is supported.

    thanks, Brian ,

so we have never enabled the  firewall policy for SEP , what the different now?

if  SEP report works correctly , then it will show 5500 clients  NTP was disbaled.

in this scenario IPS wil work ? becasue IPS has seperate policy .

But you still have the firewall component installed, correct?

Not exactly sure since it's a bug. I would suggest testing an upgrade on a couple boxes to see what the result is.

Yes Brian , we have installed firewall component. In previous version 12.1 RU1 MP1 we don't see this type of  wrong reports.

Because it's a bug that first occurred in 12.1.3

Do you need more assistance with your problem or were you able to get it resolved?

If you could post an update for followers of this thread that would be most helpful.

    Thanks and take care,
    Brian
