  • 1.  “NULL” data or where it says “Data Not Accessible”?

In relation to cleansing the data from Altiris, do you know what causes the following output whereby the report gives “NULL” data or where it says “Data Not Accessible”? Is there a way to rectify this problem?

I'm currently "Cleansing" my Altiris Database and have discovered approximately 150 devices bringing back the above detail. How can this be rectified? is it a matter of rebuilding the devices in question?

What data classes report this?  Is it the same data classes for all devices?

Hi mclemson, see attached as an example. Would a re deployment of the agent rectify this?

I'm not sure if you have any of these that you can access (since it says 60 days since last contact to NS), but I'd try the following:

    • Data not accessible/generic HP failure: could be corrupt WMI, try running 'WMIC.EXE BIOS' from the system at a command prompt.  Alternatively it could be a motherboard or similar replacement and the refurb didn't have the information entered
    • NULL data, try forcing a submission of basic inventory manually
    • Check data purging schedules
    • A few other things which are mostly fixed by SP3
    • Asset and model wouldn't be gathered unless a software inventory is run

This particular user found a current version of inventory solution resolved their issue.  What version of inventory solution are you running?  Hopefully inventory SP3.
