Endpoint Protection

Hello, Interested to see what the maximum number of locations have been used in the real world. Yes I am aware of Best Practice KB article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH98211&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1298905880381). Interested to know what people have really used and if any issues have arisen from using more than the recommended 7 locations per group. I have used 20+ in the past with good performance. Lengthened the time to check location to ~10 seconds. All feedback greatly appreciated.

Been a while since I've discussed this, so things may have changed. But back in the MR4 days, the 8th location would start causing problems. I don't know the technical reason for this, but it was pretty consistent. Things may have been optimized since then... or you may just be lucky. In either case, if you are able to use 20+ locations, then I'd just recommend testing a lot and monitoring closely during the implementation phases. 

@Ryan was using location to shuffle LU policies due to some issues using multiple GUP config. Customer is happy and the environment is humming along nicely. This was on RU6 code BTW.

At one point I was using 40+ and left the location check to the default of 4 seconds. This was before I was aware of the best practice on it. I never noticed any issues but to be honest, I wouldn't even know what to look for.

With that being said, I have since been proactive and made changes to fit the best practice as opposed to waiting for an issue to crop up.
