  • 1.  Offline clients number does not match of the SEPM report ( SEP 12.1 RU1 + SQL )

    Hi there,

    One of my customers facing this issue. The SEPM Home tab the Endpoint Status window reports a lot of offline clients who are actually online.

    In the Clients tab I can see the green dot next to the clients, and I can ping them too. They're using SEP 12.1 RU1, and SQL 2008 database for 5000client.

    What is wrong with the Management Server? How can I fix this issue?

    Hi,

    Simply you can configure the below setting in server.

    Step

    • In the console, click Admin, and then click Servers.

    • Under Servers, select the Local Site(My Site).

    • Under Tasks, click Edit the Local site properties.

    • On the General tab, Check the Delete Clients that have not connected for

    • Set the day as per your requirement.
    • Click OK.

    By default duplicate hardware ID remains in the database for 30 days, you can change settings to 1 day to remove it permanently.

    Hope the duplicate Entry avail in the Server DB. Clean the Entry.

    Hi there,

    Yes we have a replication server, the replication frequency is 1 hour. I'll contact the customer about the idea what Chetan suggested.

    Hello,

    Solution

    1. SEPM Server.
    2. Admin TAB.
    3. Server TAB.
    4. Local site properties.
    5. Choose to General setting and check mark Delete Clients that have not connected for (30 for you requirement) days.

    there is a utility from Symantec to remove duplicate entries from Sepm db , Chetan and Mithun would be able to give you more insight on this as it is internal.

    Hope fully this works
