Beyond all the BS that it took to get the VM's into NetBackup and backing up, one would think that the restore would be easy enough. I've worked with Symantec support on this over the last few weeks/months to no avail. When we try to do the one-step, the image is untarred onto the proxy cache disk jsut fine. all 13 files are there. then it jsut pukes with a status(5). Running vmconverter 3.0.3 (supposadly the one that WORKS) since previously was trying to make it work with the newest version that was compatible with ESX 3.5. The only way to "restore" is to use the datastore browser and copy the image to the vmfs and import/start it. I monkeyed around with the vmconverter CLI to no avail. Does anyone have any clues as to if one step direct restores work at all?
