    All,

    Can anyone tell me why my about 30% of my online clients showing up as offline?

    Some are running 12.1.1 and others 12.1.4 .

    What happens if you force a check in? I assume the clients have the green dot showing on the icon?

    Run sylink debugging, let it run for a few heartbeats and post the log here for review.

    Also, are these cloned systems?

    The clients have the green dot and are connected, not the yare not cloned clients. How do i force a check in?

    Right click the client icon and select "Update Policy"

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    It might be the issue with SEP 12.1.1 issue, there is a fix in SEP 12.1 RU2 notes.

    Clients report to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager as offline, even though they are online
    Fix ID: 3002170
    Symptom: Clients will randomly report into the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager as offline, even though they are actively online and available.
    Solution: Updated the client USN management to properly update the client status in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager reports.
     
    Reference: New fixes and features in Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Release Update 2 Maintenance Pack 1
     
     
    It's always recommended to have SEPM and SEP clients on the same version.
     
    Upgrade all 12.1.1. clients to 12.1.4, It should resolve the issue.

    Hi Baccus,

    Good to know issue has resovled but I would suggest to upgrade the clients to the latest version becuase issue may reoccur. 

    Because it's a known issue and been fixed in SEP 12.1 RU2 version.

    Settings suggested in the following article should be always on if database is Embedded.

    Hi chetan,

    my problem similar to this but versions are same. SEPM (12.1.4104.4130) and SEP (12.1.4100.4126)

    some times clients are not connected to SEPM, no green dot, also SEPM report shows them offline. although the problem vanishes after restarting server / semsrvc, but this should not be the solution. when tried to fix with http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH167284 Admin, Server option are there but could not locate local host / rebuild indexes,

    Have I missed any update / fix.

    please suggest.

    Hi,

    Follow these steps:

    To run database maintenance tasks on demand

    1. In the console, click Admin, and then click Servers.

    2. Under Servers, click the icon that represents the database.

    3. Under Tasks, select either of the following options:

      • Truncate Transaction Log Now

      • Rebuild Indexes Now

    4. Click Run.

    5. After the task completes, click Close .
