Hello! My name is Jacek and i'm from Poland.

On my company, we have Backup exec 12 up and running.
When I try to prepare IDR CD boot media, it writes this message:
"Operating system language 00000415 not supported by this intelligent disaster preparation wizard"
and wizard stops.
I try to prepare it for Win 2003 Standard ver. Polish (BE media server). CD ver. Polish
i'v got only polish ver. servers...

Hello Jacek,

In VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers 12.0, the language the Backup Exec user interface display is based on the option selected in Control Panel > Regional Options > Your Locale. Backup Exec supports the following languages:

- German
- English
- Spanish
- French
- Italian
- Japanese
- Chinese
We are currently working on updating the documentation to clarify this.

Ok, What about other languages?

How i can solve this problem? Buy windows 2003 server ENU?

I checked all i know about hardware and software requirements. it was consulted with Symantec Partner PM, nobody told me about this problem, before i bought BE 12.

There is no problem on ENU servers (Win SBS 2003 R2, Win 2003 64bit, Win 2003 SP1) with regional settings set to polish.

Run the Intelligent Disaster Recovery Preparation Wizard application with a '-d' switch. That is, if you have your BackupExec installed on C:\BackupExec, then get to a command prompt and run the command

     C:\BackupExec\drprepwizard.exe -d

The -d switch will take a little longer to create the resulting .iso image, due to its nature of dumping log related data. It will also bypass the language checking. The default language used when you boot using the .iso image created will be English.

idr language support

What about version BackupExec 12.5, is IDR still not supported on other language server?
What is the suggested disaster recovery path in the case IDR is not available?
