hello,
AVVI backup for one of the DC, have started to fail with following error:
The operation failed because the vCenter or ESX server reported a problem creating or accessing one or more files needed
V-79-57344-38308 - The Virtual Machine resource is not responding. Backup set canceled.
I have tried the following steps, with no help:
-Updated BE media server + updated remote agent + reboot
-deleted old snapshot
-brwse datastore - no old snapshot present (.VMSN)
-Just 1 Virtual disk, 40 GB and completely allocated
-non GRT backup also fails
-able to take new snapshot from - snapshot manager
-repair Vmware tools - reboot
-deleted -recreated the job
-Running RAWS based backup right now to see if that would work.
Thanks in advance

Thanks!
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
Thanks Craig, but the steps I have tried \mention above are from the same article plus few more,
any other suggestion?
Is there any application error event 1000 logged on the media server (with faulting application beremote.exe) ?
No Vjware, no remote crash on media server.
Backup of DC using remote agent is working.
Post repair of VMware tools, did you confirm the VMware VSS provider was not installed ? And its best to reinstall RAWS post reinstall/install of VMware Tools..
Are you backing up via the vCenter ? If yes, as a test, try a backup via the ESX node instead.
I have open a ticket with Symantec support about this issue, lets see what they come up with.
