Hello!

Through Altiris I'm trying to update Symantec Endpoint to version 11.0.4202.75 on our servers. The problem is that during the install I get this error:
"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer"

Normally this is caused by the "Only run allowed Windows Applications (RestrictRun) user GPO. However, I also get the error when logged on to the server as domain admin which is not having that GPO applied.

The strange thing is that the installation starts fine but halfway through I get the message. And it's the same error with both the .exe and the .msi file.

I've uploaded som logs to (folder jek):

https://fileshare.symantec.com
u: symc_sep_troubleshooting
p: $Ym@nt3c

I can see that there's an error 1603 in the log but also in the event log but don't know what to think of it.

What to do?

Hi,

I'll check the logs in  a while. I just added a message so it will show up on my workspace. :D

On line XXX

On line, I am not sure of the number, you have an error being called by the incapability of the system to install LiveUpdate, which I believe is causig the rollback.

MSIASSERT - 2009-06-04-10-33-05-615 : cc::StopServiceAndDepAtAnyCost(366) : Unable to openService ccSetMgr. Error=1060:

MSIASSERT - StopCcSetMgrOnOverOrBrokenInstall: Unable to stop ccSetMgr:

There is a thread that referrs to this error here:

Unfortunately, there are not many discussions with this information.

I've seen some 'Error

I've seen some 'Error 1060'

Something to do with being unable to start the service.
