Operations Manager "An error has Occurred" on Details page

Created: 11 Jul 2012 • Updated: 11 Jul 2012 | 3 comments

We have 4 Enterprise Vault servers in our environment all running version 9 sp3.  On three of the servers, when you go to th Operations Manager web page and then select details, the page starts to load and as soon as it hits the performance counters section during load, the pages throws "An Error has Occurred" message.  The error is not descriptive except that it talks about enabling health monitoring.  The configuration tabs and the main Operations MAnager page load fine, just not the details.  One of our servers works completely fine.  They all use the same Operations Manager account for configuration.  I have tried to rerun the Ops Manager configuration (which runs successfully), but no change.

I enabled health monitoring per the error page and have pasted the log results here.  This was logged into the EV server under our vault service account and trying the Operations Manager page from the server.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Take a look at the following TN and see if it helps.

"An error has occurred" when opening the Enterprise Vault (EV) Operations Manager web page.

The one that works and the ones that do not seem to have their sql configuration the same.  I went ahead and tried the TN but it made no difference.  Most of the operations manager page loads.  I can see the configuration pages, but as soon as I click on the server name to see more detail or click on the details link, I can see the section for services and section for tasks load, but as soon as the performance counters section tries to load on the same page, it throws an error and the entire page errors out.

I did try this technote I found here for Troubleshooting Operations Manager, more specifically the last few pages.

One step that had me curious was in relation to running perfmon and doing the following:

Check whether the Enterprise Vault::Monitoring object is listed in the Performance object drop-down box.

On both the working server and the non-working servers, I don't see Enterprise Vault:Monitoring as an object.  Maybe I'm going in the wrong direction?
