This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi everyone, I've configured a new Oracle policy. I'm using NetBackup 7.5 and Oracle 11.2.0.

After Client install, we executed Oracle Link with oracle user with success. Policy Type Oracle, Policy name and Application Schedule was copied and pasted from oracle script. But it fails with status 6.

dbclient log follows:

1)Sometimes Oracle services need to be restarted after NBU installation or upgrade. Have you tried that?

2)with which previlleges Netbackup client service configured on?

3)What are the read time outs and verify the rman output file.

1) For my surprise, it's giving error 13 file read error.

Please verify the RMAN outfile.. did u verify the communication between client and masterserver as suggested above?

sri vani's picture

Generally I wld resolve file system backup before fixing DB backup issues

sometimes 13 is related to communication issues, it may impact db backups as well..

so fixing FS backups will isolate the DB backup issue..

Guys, MTU was set to 9000 in the network interface, changing it to default did the trick.

Thanks everyone
