Oracle Restore Error - couldn't accept from data socket

Created: 14 Mar 2013 | 1 comment

Hi,

i'm trying to duplicate with RMAN a 3 TB oracle database and i get some errors.

MAster server is 7.5.0.4 on Windows 2008 R2

Media Server is 7.5.0.4 on Windows 2008 R2

Client Source is a Virtual machine running netbackup 7.1.0.4 on RHEL 5.7

Client Destination is a Virtual machine running netbackup 7.1 on RHEL 5.7.

After duplicating 2.5 TB i got this error :

3/14/2013 3:46:10 AM - Info bpbrm(pid=2764 )hostname_dest_client is the host to restore to
3/14/2013 3:46:10 AM - Info bpbrm(pid=2764) reading file list from client
3/14/2013 3:46:10 AM - Info bpbrm(pid=2764) listening for client connection
3/14/2013 3:51:16 AM - Error bpbrm(pid=2764) listen for client protocol error - couldn't accept from data socket, An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.  (10038)
3/14/2013 3:51:16 AM - Info tar32(pid=0) done. status: 25: cannot connect on socket
3/14/2013 3:51:16 AM - Error bpbrm(pid=2764) client restore EXIT STATUS 25: cannot connect on socket

So if I look iin the bpbrm log on the media server i get those errors:

That could be a problem.  I would retry the restore and observe the results.
