 You can install Veritas

You can install Veritas Netbackup on Window and on Linux machine as well.

The latest version of Veritas Netbackup 6.5.4 is available and I am Veritas Netbackup 6.5 on win2003 server..

i would like you to install updated windows and Veritas Netbackup as well so you may get good performance.

Any comment will be appreciated. Mark as Solution if your query is resolved

Performance will be based on the requirement and planning

Refer this document on planning the Netbackup Environment for optimum performance http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/307083.htm

Looks like the ftp site is 'broken' again.

:(

Don't need any login/password to access. This has been happening on & off for the past few weeks or so. Could wait or hope that a friendly Symantec Employee will offer to e-mail this doc to you! ;)

Regards Andy

Choose the OS you know best

What is you're playground ?

If you have a UNIX background go for NBU on Linux/Unix, are you a Windows admin by heart go for Windows.

But do take a look in the "Backup Planning and Performance Tuning Guide" as RameshG suggest. It will save you some deep pits down the Netbackup road ;-)

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

If this post solved you’re questions please send a gratitude by marking it as a solution.

What you know best

as you will be intimately working with netbackup choose the type that you know how to use.
one where you know how to script and use command line.

I don't have to know how to spell....I work on Unix.
NetBackup 7.0.1 - AIX & Windows
