This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi everyone,

We're implementing Symantec Messaging Gateway, and we face one "problem".

So, for Outbound.

The gateway needs to forward to host X, if the domain is x.com

forwards to host Y, if domain is Y.com

and forwards to host Z, for all others domains.

How can we configure these settings?

(we can't user MX lookup)

For sending to host X and Y you can do this in Protocols Domains -> Add (uncheck local domain) then in the delivery tab check Optionaly route this domain or emaill address and use a desitination host.

for all messages that are not specific to domains x and y.

That would be in Administration -> configuration -> Select the hosts -> Smtp -> Outbound -> Outbound Non-local Mail Delivery. Select Relay non-local domain mail to the following hosts and specifiy a host (Z in your example).

Any mail that is set for non local delviery will be sent to Z. But domains X and Y will be delivered to the specified host ips as set in domains -> protocols.

I have this working.

I added the external domains but left the "Optionally route" option unchecked.  This works as long as the default mail server for that domain is the one in the MX record.

If TLS is required when sending, make sure you check the "Optional delivery encryption" option and set it to "Require TLS".

BenDC's solution should be all right.
Thanks a lot !

PS: BerkMFP, we can't use MXrecord on that particular case :-), but thank you for your help.
