Outgoing email with blank field in the From

When I do a search in the messages audit logs for outgoing messages with "Mandatory filter value: <>". I found emails with blank field in the From. What could be happening?
 
I have Domino 8.5.2 FP 2 in my environment.

It is perfectly valid to send an email from <>. These are usually Non-Delivery Reports, but anyone can send from a null sender. What is the actual issue that you are having?

My problem is that some messages sent from an internal email address shows none in the "from". The verdict for these messages is that were delivered.

I would like to know why this is happening.
