Outlook does not show PGP Messages anymore (Office 10, PGP 10.1.0)

Hi,

usually when I started my outlook I was asked once to type in the passphrase and then Outlook showed all PGP encrypted messages.

Suddenly Outlook does not ask me about the passphrase anymore and the PGP messages are not decrypted automatically by Outlook.

To my knowledge I did not change any setting, neither in outlook nor in PGP.

It seems the connecton (Add in) between Outlook and PGP is lost.

Any ideas about this??

Thank you!

Regards,

Timo

Are you sure your PGP License hasn't expired?  If that is the case it will stop encrypting

Yes, I am sure. I have a lifetime License. Expiration date: "Never".

I can read the E-Mails when dragging them into the PGP Viewer.

The automatic decryption in Outlook does not work anymore and I cannot send out encrypted Mails with Outlook anymore.

I have just noticed that I also cannot encrypt outgoing E-Mails anymore.

I would help in this urgently.

Does anybody has an idea?

This problem has often been resolved by deleting your PGP created messaging service, and letting PGP recreate it.

I'm afraid I do not exactly know what you mean.

Could you please describe with more detail.

Thank you in advance!

In PGP Desktop, select PGP Messaging toward the top of the left hand side.  You will see that module expand, showing your email address (the messaging service for that email address).  You can right click on it, and select Delete Service.

So far so good. That worked.

However, another question. How does PGP now create the service again?

When you have enabled Discover New Accounts on the Messaging tab of Options, the PGP email proxy will use the data sent from your email client to make the necessary settings for the email proxy to use PGP on email to and from those servers.  You can then individualize those settings as needed or desired.

I deleted the service and tried to have PGP recreate it automatically. But obviously, PGP has no idea about Outlook and will not respond to any action done in Outlook, even though "Discover New Accounts" is activated.

I recreated the service manually and entered all information as it was before. There is still no reaction on anything.

this may be a dumb question, but what version of Windows are you running? Have you tried upgrading your PGP desktop client also? PGP Desktop 10.1.0 is 2.5 or 3 years old now and may not be compatible with the most recent security updates with Microsoft.
