Outlook profile "Enterprise Vault" created when 2013 client is installed

Created: 27 Jun 2013 | 3 comments

We are pushing the Office 2013 suite to our staff.  Desktops are running Windows 7 with a mix of 32 and 64 bit machines.  We have had 2 instances where Outlook 2013 opens with an Enterprise Vault outlook profile.  This profile does not work and a new profile must be created for the user in order to open Outlook.

We are installing the EV Add-In version 10.0.3.1189.

We are pushing to several hundred more users in the next few days and would like to be able to address the issue or at least have an explanation.

Thanks.

ME Jones

What do you mean by having an Enterprise Vault outlook profile?

Take us through the steps..  Nice new machine, with Windows 7 (say it's 32 Bit).. what do you do next to get Office installed, and then the EV Outlook Add-in? When does this profile appear?

The first time user logs into Outlook 2013, the login fails.

Under Control Panel / Mail / Show Profiles, a profile named "Enterprise Vault" is present.

The Office 2013 suite is installed via SMS install.  EV add-in is installed after the suite, also using SMS.

2 out of approximately 300 installs have reported this problem.

Hello EmmeJ,

I was curious if you have figured out what was going on and if it happened to any more folks.  Seems like you were seeing this >1% of your users so was wondering if you had seen it anymore or figured out the differences between the 2 it did happen with and the others.

Best,
