owa performance

JB22's picture

Hi,

Can anyone give me some tips on how to improve the performance of owa when opening an archived item.

We use ev 7.5 SP4. Our users complain that the opening of an archived item takes a while in comparison to opening an regular mail item in owa. An archived item sometimes takes more than 30 seconds to open.

Has anyone some experience on solving such an issue?

Thanks for the help.

JB

Hi

Haven't got experience, but I'd suggest you begin with enabling logging in OWA, and see if there are e.g. URL's which cannot be resolved immediately from within Exchange and such things.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the reply.

I have opened a case with the symantec support and sent them the log files but there seems nothing to be wrong.

I hoped with some tuning or adjustments of some parameters that the performance could be improved?

I have consulted the ev performance guide but I didn't find anything to improve involving owa.

Thanks for the help.

Grtz,

JB

Do you have mapped the IP of the IIS on the Frontend/Backend to more than one IP Adress? If yes, try to select only one.

I know cases where this has improved the OWA Performance....

Give it a try

In all of the EV installations I've done, I've only encountered this once before.  In this particular case, the performance issue was caused from the Exchange Administator having enabled compression.  Once the compression was disabled, the performance levels were brought back up to the norm.

hope this helps!
