There is issue in 12.1 RU1  which has fixed in 12.1 RU1 MP1

Export of client package from SEPM never finishes
Fix ID: 2627397
Symptom: Export of a client package from SEPM does not complete on non-English Windows, when SEPM is configured to use the embedded database.
Solution: SEPM was modified to use a different database method to obtain binary stream data.

Upgrade your version in 12.1.3. Temprory you can download the client package from Fileconnect and use it.

Extract the setup and add the Server sylink file for SEP client/server connectivity

Try these Steps:

Run upgrade.bat to update schema to new version:

1- Stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager services;

click in start --> run --> type services.msc --> stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

2- Go to <local drive>\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\upgrade.bat

Let all upgrade process finish and reopen console Manager. Generally the SEPM services starts after upgrade done.

 1) Remove all old packages from SEPM.

  • Log into SEPM
  • Click in the Tab: Admin > Install Packages and select the old packages with right click and select the option delete;
  • After you remove all the old packages, log off from SEPM.

2) Click on Start > Run and type the following command ''services.msc'' to open the services management:

  • Stop the service ''Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager''; (Keep it open)

3) Open the following direct <driver:>Program FilesSymantecSymantec Endpoint Protection ManagerBin and execute ''upgrade.bat'';

  • Once you executed  ''upgrade.bat'' start the service ''Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager'' and log on again into SEPM.;

Now you should be able to export the new packages.

Thank& Regards,

Hi mahesh,

Do you still have this issue ? If so can you reproduce it and post here the scm-server-0.log and mention the time when you precisely reproduced it please ?

As there is no error message and hanging, I suspect Java Heap space that might need to be set to more optimized value or maybe it's just a mismatch between their dedicated reg keys and the information written on the sesm.bat file.

Do you have the same behavior with the product when you try to perform a remote push of a SEPx86/SEPx64 package as well ?

Kind regards,

A. Wesker
