I am looking for a way to automatically remove old packages from a package server.  Is there a setting in the Altiris Console that will allow packages to be flushed after a certain time stamp?  If so, where would I go to set that up?

The setting is already there.  But you have to know how to use it.

The setting is under Settings | All Settings \ Notification Server \ Site Server Settings \ Package Service \ Package Service Settings.

Note, that it says "Delete package files if they are unsed for..."  What "unused" means, is that no one at that location has a policy assigned for the package.  Assigned is key.  To effect this, you need to disable associated policies for those packages, and then over time, they'll be cleared off the package servers.

Except images.  They march to their own drum.  We have another KB on this, but the short answer is that often you need manual intervention for images (and copy file packages).  The rest of the packages should work pretty well per the information above.

Thanks for the tip!  I will be able to clean some space off the servers now.
