Altiris is deployed in Europe with 9 different language, the total Microsoft patch size for the 9 languages is more than 35 GB. If package servers download all these it can cost a diskspace issue (maybe not now but the size increases each month).

The question is:
Is there a way to restrict only certain language is downloaded into a package server? E.G: The package server in France only download Frence language patches while the package server in Holland only download Dutch and English packages.

Thank you in advance.

PS assignment tools

Unfortunately PMS does not have a global option that does this, however, it can still be done.

Method 1:  Disable the "Allow Package Server distribution" option within the "Patch Management > Server Settings > Microsoft Settings > Microsoft > Advanced" page.  What this will do is prevent a PS assignment being added to the update package objects.  You then need to manually assign the relevant PS to these objects.

Method 2:  http://www.symantec.com/connect/downloads/set-package-servers-automatically-assignment-all-pms-package-objects  This will drastically reduce the disk space usage on your package servers, as the PS will download a package from the NS only when a client within its subnet or site is targeted by it.
