Has anyone used the package server as a means of transfering or replicating files across the Enterprise? For example I would like to share an ISO file through out the organization. WOuld it be possible to use the Altiris package server to do this?
Yes this is possible, as you do not need to associate a task/policy to a package in order for it to be downloaded by PS's, because that is determined by the PS assignment option you set on the package.
