Package Server Taking Over

For some reason, all of my Altiris clients are now trying to download packages from a package server at a remote site. It's on a separate subnet. All of my main clients are on the 10.104.16.0/255.255.240.0 subnet, the WAN site is on the 10.104.4.1/255.255.255.0 subnet. How can I get the packages to download from the NS server that is already on the .16 subnet? Does the NS have to be added to the list of package servers? From Site Maintenance/Sites, it doesn't show a package server for the main site. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

So, they have been downloading fine up until this point? Did you make any changes?

The NS does not need to be added as a package server, and should only function in that role, if there are no PS defined for a site. If a site has a defined PS, then the clients download from it.

Correct, no changes were made that I'm aware of. I manually assigned them to their respective sites, then restarted the NS and that appears to have resolved the issue. Just strange on why it would have just wigged out like that. Thanks!

Well, it certainly is strange (and I imagine a bit unnerving) behavior. Let us know if it pops up again.

Yes, really strange. Maybe our Network Admin was jacking around with subnets/VLANs and didn't tell me? Who knows. Will do, thanks!
