page table memory error from ghost 11_5 on std boot CD

    on an intel DG31PR System with E8500 4GB Ram, evga GF8500GT
    boot Ghost 11.5 from CD (standard boot) with a maxtor 1 touch 500GB USB drive plugged
    was able to get as far as selecting the maxtor drive for source, but crashed on selecting the image folder:

    Error: could not allocate page table memory
    c:\Ghost


    it apparently failed to list .gho files from the USB drive.


    I also tried copying the desired image files to a hp media USB 500 GB drive under the folder ImageTmp
    all files names conform to 8.3 naming convention just to test if that was the problem.
    Again on running the ghost after booting, ghost crashes on opening the ImageTmp folder


    what can I do rectify  or work around the problem
